ALISA CHILDERS OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY

Posted: August 18th, 2006

After four studio releases, a string of top ten radio singles, and a seven-year run with the Dove Award winning Christian music group ZOEgirl, Alisa Childers is finding her own voice. "For years I have had a dream to share the songs I've written in a more intimate and personal setting," said Childers, "It has become clear to me that the time has come for me to set out on my own, and share what's in my heart and head." With musical influences such as Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Steve Taylor, Kate Bush, U2, and Sheila Walsh, it's no wonder that she desires a deeper connection with her audience. "As a little girl, my dad would play all kinds of records for me. From the Beach Boys to the Beatles, from Paul Simon to Tina Turner, he wanted me to know what was going on, and where it all started."

As a member of ZOEgirl, Alisa was able to carve a comfortable niche for herself as a respected songwriter. Penning hits like "I Believe", a joyful, uplifting track that soon became the group's anthem, "Unchangeable", and the powerful "Scream" which climbed its way up the charts in 2005, Alisa has proven her career is just beginning. "I feel like I am in the middle of a creative renaissance right now. The floodgates are open, and I have so much to pour out," says Childers. Alisa's intensely personal and honest style of songwriting is the driving force behind her solo music. Coupled with infectious melodies and her vocal adaptability, each song cuts to the heart and sticks in your head.

Alisa has had so many wonderful experiences with ZOEgirl, like selling over a million records, garnering the Dove Award for Best New Artist, and touring with bands such as the Newsboys, TobyMac, Avalon, Jump5 and Natalie Grant. With such honors, ZOEgirl remained in the forefront of the Contemporary Music scene, a legacy which Alisa is sure to continue.

Alisa lives with her husband, Mike, in Franklin, Tennessee where she enjoys cooking, reading and painting.

ALISA CHILDERS TO LEAVE ZOEGIRL
Posted: August 1st, 2006

After seven years, Alisa Childers is leaving contemporary Christian group ZOEgirl at the end of the year to pursue her career as a solo artist.

ZOEgirl exploded on the scene in 2000. Having sold more than one million albums worldwide, ZOEgirl is the fastest-selling debut artist in the 26-year history of Sparrow Records.

"I have had such a great time with Kristin and Chrissy pursuing the call of God on ZOEgirl and will treasure all those memories forever. However, it's become evident to me that God is leading me to focus more on the other songs I've been writing over the years and to give them a voice," Alisa said.

While the last seven years with ZOEgirl have been a great experience and Alisa will miss her band mates, Chrissy Conway and Kristin Swinford, she looks forward to this great opportunity.

"I will forever be grateful to Norman Miller and Peter York who put ZOEgirl together and were the first ones in the industry to believe in me and give me a chance," Alisa said.
